One-Day Pass Prop Firms: How One-Day Evaluations Work

Learn how one-day pass prop firms work, what to expect from their evaluations, and the trading rules, fees and risks to consider before choosing a provider.

One-Day Pass Prop Firms: How One-Day Evaluations Work

Prop firm evaluations have traditionally been structured around more than a profit target. Minimum trading days and other conditions could keep an evaluation open even after the required profit had already been reached.

A one-day pass prop firm evaluation has been designed to remove that minimum-day requirement. If the profit target is reached in a single trading day without breaching the drawdown or risk rules, the challenge can be passed that day.

This guide explains how one-day evaluations work, the rules that still determine a successful pass, and how Goat Funded Futures (GFF) structures its 1-Day-Pass-Plan across its 25K, 50K, and 100K account sizes.

Key Takeaways

  • Speed comes from removing requirements, not lowering standards. A 1-day pass prop firm evaluation drops the minimum trading days and the consistency rule, while the profit target and risk limits stay firmly in place.

  • One strong session can complete it. Needing only one day to pass prop firm requirements is realistic here, provided no other rule is broken.

  • Risk rules still apply throughout. Drawdown limits and daily loss limits govern every trade, whatever speed you move at.

  • Goat Funded Futures (GFF) applies no consistency rule during the evaluation. Trade however your edge falls. Concentration in one session creates no problem at the evaluation stage.

  • Three account sizes are available: 25K, 50K, and 100K, with entries starting at $79 and resets published openly at $69, $99, and $159.

  • Payouts arrive every 5 winning days. A winning day means a net profit of at least 0.2% of your starting balance, so $100 on a 50K account.

  • Activation costs nothing. Your funded account switches on at $0 once you pass, with no surprise charge waiting.

  • The drawdown locks permanently. Once your balance reaches your starting figure, the trailing drawdown stops moving and becomes a fixed safety net.

What a One-Day Pass Evaluation Is

The main difference in a one-day evaluation is the removal of rules that can force a challenge to continue after the profit target has been reached.

Lots of futures prop firm evaluations combine a profit target with minimum trading days or a consistency rule. A consistency rule limits how much of the total profit can come from a single trading day.

Under a 50% rule, for example, a $3,000 best day would require at least $6,000 in total profit before that day represented 50% of the total. Passing from one profitable session alone would therefore be impossible.

A 1-day pass prop firm removes those timing barriers from the evaluation. With GFF's 1-Day-Pass-Plan, there is no minimum number of trading days and no consistency rule during the challenge. The requirement is reduced to the part that matters: reach the 6% profit target while staying within the account's trading and loss rules.

The name does not mean the challenge has to be completed within 24 hours. A 1-day pass prop firm makes a one-day pass possible, but there is no penalty for taking longer. GFF places no overall time limit on the evaluation, although the account must remain active under its inactivity rules.

A Worked Example

GFF's 50K 1-Day-Pass-Plan: The 6% target means $3,000 in profit is required to pass.

MNQ carries a value of $2 per Nasdaq-100 index point per contract. Five MNQ contracts therefore produce $10 for every index point moved in the trader's favour.

A combined 300-point gain across those five contracts would equal $3,000 before trading costs. Five micro contracts also sit comfortably inside GFF's 50K limit of 30 micros.

  • Under an evaluation with a 50% consistency rule, making the entire target in one day would not necessarily produce an immediate pass because that session would account for 100% of accumulated profit. More profit would need to be built on later days until the required ratio was met.

  • Under a prop firm one-day pass structure with no evaluation consistency rule, the same $3,000 profit could complete the challenge in a single trading day.

The Rules Still Apply

A prop firm one-day pass removes the rules that prevent a challenge from being completed in one session. It does not remove the risk limits protecting the account.

The profit target stays at 6%. At GFF, that means $1,500 on a 25K account, $3,000 on a 50K account, and $6,000 on a 100K account.

Maximum drawdown still applies: GFF uses an end-of-day trailing drawdown based on the highest closing balance, not intraday equity. The floor is updated after the trading day closes, and breaching it results in a hard breach.

Account size

Maximum drawdown

25K

$1,000 (4%)

50K

$2,000 (4%)

100K

$3,000 (3%)

  • The drawdown eventually stops trailing. Once it reaches the account’s starting balance, it locks there permanently. The floor will no longer rise with future profits, which gives the account a fixed drawdown level in both the evaluation and funded phases.

  • A daily loss limit also applies in both phases. Hitting it is a soft pause, not an account breach. Open positions are closed, trading is stopped for the rest of the day, and access resumes automatically the next trading day if no other rule has been broken.

Contract limits stay fixed for the life of the account, applying identically in evaluation and funded stages: 1 mini or 10 micro on 25K, 3 mini or 30 micro on 50K, and 6 mini or 60 micro on 100K.

How GFF Structures Its 1 Day Pass Prop Firm Evaluation

The plan exists for traders whose profit arrives in bursts. Breakout traders, news traders, and anyone trading a small number of sessions each week all run into consistency rules repeatedly. Removing the requirement at the evaluation stage solves the problem directly.

Two resets are available per challenge, and you can hold up to 5 funded accounts at once.

Passing is simple: Reach the 6% target, stay within the trading rules and loss limits, and you pass. There is no minimum number of trading days whatsoever. Your evaluation period is then reviewed, and your funded account activates within 2 business days.

The Profit Split

The standard profit split is 80/20 in your favour. A 90/10 Profit Share Add-On can be selected at checkout for 20% of the challenge price: $15.80 on 25K, $21.80 on 50K, and $35.80 on 100K. The add-on carries into the funded account automatically, so it is purchased only once. Since payouts begin after the evaluation is passed, the higher split applies only to funded profits.

Payouts

Payout eligibility is reached after five winning days. Each winning day must produce at least 0.2% of the starting balance in net profit, equal to $100 on a 50K account.

Requests can be submitted from the 5th–8th or 20th–23rd each month, with a $500 minimum. Each payout is limited to 50% of available profit and the applicable cap for the account size and payout number. The remaining 50% stays in the account as a profit buffer.

What Changes When You Get Funded

The majority of the account rules stay the same after passing, but two important changes begin once the account is funded.

  • The 35% consistency rule starts applying: There is no consistency rule during the evaluation. Once funded, however, no single trading day can represent more than 35% of the total profit for the current payout period.

On a 50K account, for example, a $1,750 best day requires at least $5,000 in total profit before a payout can be requested. At that point, the $1,750 day represents exactly 35% of the total.

Exceeding 35% does not breach or close the account. It only delays payout eligibility. Continue building profit until the highest-profit day falls to 35% or less of the total, and the consistency requirement is met again.

  • News trading becomes restricted: The evaluation has no news-trading restriction, but funded accounts use a two-minute buffer before and after high-impact releases.

The end-of-day trailing drawdown, drawdown lock, maximum drawdown amount, daily loss limit, contract limits, overnight and weekend holding rules, and microscalping rule otherwise continue into the funded phase.

Rules Worth Knowing Before You Buy

Four rules should be clear before buying a 1-day pass prop firm account, since each can affect trading or payout eligibility.

  1. News trading: The evaluation has no news restrictions. Once funded, a 2-minute buffer applies around high-impact releases. No position may be opened or closed, and no pending order may trigger, within two minutes before or after the release. Existing positions can be held through the event.

  1. Overnight and weekend holding: Neither is allowed. Open positions are automatically closed at 15:55 CT, five minutes before the session ends.

  1. Microscalping: Profit from trades closed within two minutes is deducted from the account balance and payout calculations. The trade itself does not breach the account. Tick scalping, where positions are opened and closed within seconds for small moves, is also prohibited.

  1. Inactivity: At least one trade must be placed every seven days. Seven consecutive inactive days result in account closure with no refund. The one-day-pass prop firm evaluation has no deadline to pass, but the account must remain active. Contact support beforehand if an extended absence is planned.

1-Day-Pass-Plan vs EOD Challenge

Choosing between a prop firm one-day pass route and a standard evaluation comes down to price against flexibility.

A 1-Day-Pass-Plan 50K costs $109, compared to $69 for an EOD 50K. Understanding what the extra buys makes the choice easier.

What the higher price gets you:

  • No consistency rule during the evaluation, whereas EOD applies a 50% rule throughout

  • Faster payouts, at 5 winning days in place of 7

  • A more forgiving funded consistency rule, at 35% against EOD's 30%, so a bigger single day is allowed

  • A 25K entry size, which EOD does not offer

Two tradeoffs worth weighing:

  • The 1-Day-Pass-Plan applies a daily loss limit during the evaluation. EOD does not.

  • The 1-Day-Pass-Plan tops out at 100K. EOD reaches 150K.

Neither plan is better in the abstract. The right choice depends on whether your profit arrives evenly or in concentrated sessions.

How Other Firms Approach Fast Evaluations

Several futures firms now offer faster routes to funded status, but the rules behind them differ considerably.

  • Apex Trader Funding allows its current evaluations to be passed in one trading day with no evaluation consistency rule. Evaluations remain active for 30 calendar days and cannot be reset once failed; a new evaluation must be purchased instead.

  • Take Profit Trader takes a different approach. New evaluations require at least three trading days and apply a 50% consistency rule. Once the PRO stage is reached, however, payouts can be requested from day one and daily, with no funded consistency rule.

  • Tradeify varies the structure by plan. Growth evaluations have no consistency rule and can be completed in one trading day, while Select evaluations apply a 40% rule. Select funded accounts can also use a Daily payout route with no consistency requirement.

  • Alpha Futures offers its Zero evaluation with no consistency rule, making a one-day pass possible. Standard evaluations apply a 50% rule, while Advanced evaluations use 40%.

The comparison shows why a one-day pass prop firm should be judged by the exact rules behind the headline. Faster passing can come from removing minimum days, consistency requirements, or both.

Who a One-Day Pass Suits

A one-day pass prop firm suits traders whose strongest opportunities are concentrated into fewer sessions. The structure works best when profit naturally arrives in larger bursts.

  • Breakout and momentum traders may produce little on quiet days and much more when a strong trend develops. With no evaluation consistency rule, one large session does not delay the pass.

  • News and event traders can benefit during the evaluation, where GFF places no restrictions around high-impact releases. Once funded, however, a two-minute news buffer applies.

  • Part-time traders may only have a few sessions available each week. With no minimum trading days, strong performance can move the evaluation forward without requiring extra sessions simply to satisfy a day count.

  • Traders returning after a break may also prefer a faster route without committing to a fixed evaluation schedule.

A one-day pass prop firm is less important for traders whose profits are already spread evenly across many sessions. In that case, a lower-cost evaluation with consistency requirements may offer better value.

Get Funded on Your Own Timeline

Strong setups do not arrive on a fixed schedule. A one-day pass prop firm should give you room to trade when the opportunity is there, without forcing extra days simply to complete an evaluation.

Goat Funded Futures (GFF) 1-Day-Pass-Plan removes both minimum trading days and the evaluation consistency rule. Reach the 6% profit target, stay within the risk limits, and the challenge is complete.

What you get:

  • 25K, 50K, and 100K accounts, starting at $79.

  • $0 activation fee after passing.

  • No time limit to complete the evaluation.

  • Payout eligibility every 5 winning days, with a $500 minimum request.

  • 80/20 profit split by default, with an optional 90/10 add-on.

  • Evaluation resets at $69, $99, and $159, with up to two resets per challenge.

  • Increasing payout caps, reaching $4,500 per request on a 100K account from the fourth payout onward.

  • Up to 5 funded accounts held at once.
