Prop Firm Scaling Plan: What It Is and How It Works
Learn how a prop firm scaling plan works, how traders can increase their funded account size, and which targets and trading rules affect their progression.

One of the best ways to spot the long-term potential of a prop firm is its scaling plan. As of 2026, there are hundreds of such firms with promises of bigger accounts, faster growth, and a fast track to serious capital. However, very few explain what happens after the first funded account settles in your dashboard.
So what does growth look like once you are funded? Some firms raise your contract limits after you hit a profit milestone. Others hold you at one size for the life of the account. A few let you grow by adding accounts and, later, by stepping onto real capital.
Goat Funded Futures (GFF) has its own growth model. Traders who understand the details before buying a challenge can make better use of it.
Below, you will see how scaling plans work across all 6 GFF plans and what each account size allows. It also covers how the Path to Live turns a proven record into real GFF capital and where the $750K ceiling sits.
What Scaling Looks Like in Prop Trading
Think of a video game with levels. You begin with a small toolkit, prove you can use it, and unlock more power. In prop trading, a scaling plan is the rulebook behind this idea. It spells out how your buying power grows as your track record does.
Firms build scaling plans in 2 main ways:
Contract scaling: The number of contracts you may hold rises in steps once your balance passes set milestones. A trader might begin with 2 minis, reach a profit milestone, and move up to 4.
Account scaling: Your funded balance grows, or you add more accounts, as your record improves.
Contract scaling is close to the trading itself. In futures, profit and loss depend on how many contracts you hold and how far price moves, so prop firm contract limits decide how much a good day can earn. Micros, worth 1/10 of a mini, let smaller accounts trade with finer control.
Account scaling speaks to a different goal. Traders who want to increase funded account size care about the total capital working for them and the payouts it can produce. Both forms are important, and a firm may offer one, the other, or a blend.
Whichever form a firm uses, 3 questions show where you stand.
How quickly can you move up?
What conditions apply along the way?
Where does the growth stop?

How Growth Works at GFF
GFF takes a direct approach. Every account opens with its full contract limit from your first trading day, and the limit stays fixed for the life of the account. You never wait to unlock size or chase a milestone to earn it.
The scaling plan at GFF grows through 3 levers:
The first lever is account size. Depending on the plan, you choose from $25K, $50K, $100K, or $150K, and a larger balance brings a higher contract limit and a wider drawdown.
The second lever is the number of accounts. Traders on the End of Day (EOD) Challenge, 1-Day-Pass-Plan, Flex Challenge, and Daily Payouts can hold up to 5 funded accounts, while Instant Classic and Instant Lite allow up to 3. Running multiple funded accounts increase the capital in play without changing the rules on any single account.
The third lever is the track record you build. Payout caps climb on the EOD Challenge and 1-Day-Pass-Plan as you complete payouts, and the Path to Live program offers a route to real GFF capital for traders the risk team selects.
The table below lays out the account sizes and account limits on each plan.
Plan | Account sizes | Evaluation | Funded accounts allowed |
EOD Challenge | $50K, $100K, $150K | Single phase, 6% target | Up to 5 |
1-Day-Pass-Plan | $25K, $50K, $100K | Single phase, 6% target | Up to 5 |
Flex Challenge | $50K, $100K, $150K | Single phase, 6% target | Up to 5 |
Daily Payouts | $25K, $50K, $100K, $150K | Single phase, 6% target | Up to 5 |
Instant Classic | $25K, $50K, $100K, $150K | None, funded from purchase | Up to 3 |
Instant Lite | $25K, $50K, $100K | None, funded from purchase | Up to 3 |
Full contract limits from day one mean the numbers stay constant for the life of each account.
This table lists prop firm contract limits for every plan and size, shown as minis and micros.

GFF Scaling by Plan: Sizes, Prices, and Allocation
Each GFF plan comes with its own account sizes, pricing, and allocation limits. Comparing them side by side makes it easier to see how much capital is available at each stage and how far each route can scale.
EOD Challenge
The EOD Challenge suits traders who want steady, structured growth. You pass a single-phase evaluation by reaching a 6% profit target, with no time limit and 2 resets available. Your drawdown trails your highest end-of-day balance and locks once it reaches your starting balance, which our guide to end-of-day drawdown explains in detail.
Payouts arrive after every 7 winning days, at an 80/20 split by default, with an optional 90/10 add-on. The cap on each request follows a ladder.
On the 50K, it starts at $1,500 for the 1st payout, rises to $2,000 for the 2nd and $2,500 for the 3rd, and reaches $2,750 from the 4th onward.
The 100K and 150K sizes climb in the same pattern, up to $3,750 on the 100K and $4,250 on the 150K. Holding multiple funded accounts lets you run the ladder on each one.
Account size | Price | Reset price | Max drawdown | 1st payout cap |
$50K | $69 | $59 | $2,000 | $1,500 |
$100K | $132 | $120 | $3,000 | $2,000 |
$150K | $185 | $170 | $4,500 | $2,500 |
1-Day-Pass-Plan
The 1-Day-Pass-Plan is built for traders who want quick progress. The evaluation has no consistency rule, so a big day helps you reach the 6% target sooner, and the plan opens with a $25K size and tops out at $100K. Our breakdown of how one-day evaluations work covers the format in full.
Payouts arrive after every 5 winning days, and the cap on each request climbs as you complete them.
The 50K starts at $1,500 and reaches $2,500 from the 4th payout onward, while the 100K moves from $2,500 to $4,500.
The default split is 80/20, and a 90/10 add-on is available at checkout.
Drawdown locks once your balance reaches the starting balance, which gives you a fixed safety net as the account grows.
Account size | Price | Reset price | Max drawdown | 1st payout cap |
$25K | $79 | $69 | $1,000 | $800 |
$50K | $109 | $99 | $2,000 | $1,500 |
$100K | $179 | $159 | $3,000 | $2,500 |
Flex Challenge
Flex has no daily loss limit in either phase and drops the consistency rule once you are funded, which leaves room to grow on strong days. Payouts arrive after every 5 winning days, and each request can reach 50% of your profit:
Up to $2,000 on the 50K, $2,500 on the 100K, and $3,000 on the 150K.
A winning day needs $250 on the 50K, $400 on the 100K, and $450 on the 150K.
A holding-time rule applies at each payout request. At least 50% of your closed trades and 50% of your net profit must come from trades held for over 1 minute. Split options match the EOD Challenge, with 80/20 by default and a 90/10 add-on.
Account size | Price | Reset price | Max drawdown | Payout cap |
$50K | $109 | $94 | $2,000 | $2,000 |
$100K | $169 | $159 | $3,000 | $2,500 |
$150K | $309 | $299 | $4,500 | $3,000 |
Daily Payouts
Daily Payouts runs on the quickest payout rhythm in the lineup. Once funded, you can request a payout every 24 hours, with a 90/10 split from your first payout and no add-on to buy. Full contract limits apply from day one, and the help center confirms the plan has no scaling plan for contracts. Our Daily Payouts page shows how the rhythm works in practice.
Each request must clear a profit buffer, which sits at $1,100 on the 25K, $2,100 on the 50K, $3,100 on the 100K, and $4,600 on the 150K.
At least half of every request must come from profit earned after your last approved payout, and a 3% processing fee covers transaction costs on each payout.
The drawdown is end-of-day trailing in the evaluation, turns intraday trailing once you are funded, and locks at your starting balance plus $100.
Account size | Price | Reset price | Max drawdown | Max per payout |
$25K | $89 | $79 | $1,000 | $650 |
$50K | $119 | $109 | $2,000 | $1,000 |
$100K | $189 | $179 | $3,000 | $1,500 |
$150K | $269 | $259 | $4,500 | $2,500 |
Instant Classic
Instant Classic skips the evaluation, so your account is funded from the day you buy it. Your first payout requires a 7% profit target, 7 winning days, and at least 10 calendar days. Later payouts follow every 7 winning days once you surpass your previous equity high.
The profit share is 100% on your first $10,000 in payouts, then 90/10.
A 20% consistency rule applies before each payout, and the intraday trailing drawdown of 5% locks at your starting balance.
Leave a cushion in the account when you withdraw, since the floor is your starting balance. You can hold up to 3 accounts, and resets are not available on this plan.
Account size | Price | 1st payout target | Max drawdown | Payout cap |
$25K | $192 | $1,750 | $1,250 | $1,000 |
$50K | $277 | $3,500 | $2,500 | $2,000 |
$100K | $489 | $7,000 | $5,000 | $3,000 |
$150K | $624 | $10,500 | $7,500 | $4,000 |
Instant Lite
Instant Lite is the entry-level instant plan. There is no evaluation and no target to pass, though payouts do carry targets.
The first payout target is $1,500 on the 25K, $3,000 on the 50K, and $6,500 on the 100K, with recurring targets of $1,250, $2,400, and $3,500 afterwards.
Consistency rules widen as you complete payouts, from 15% on the 1st payout to 20% on the 2nd and 25% from the 3rd onward.
You keep 90% from your first payout, daily profit is capped at 5%, and the drawdown trails at the end of the day before locking at your starting balance plus $100. Up to 3 accounts can run at once.
Account size | Price | 1st payout target | Max drawdown | Payout cap |
$25K | $182 | $1,500 | $1,000 | $1,000 |
$50K | $229 | $3,000 | $1,750 | $2,000 |
$100K | $369 | $6,500 | $3,000 | $3,000 |
Path to Live: Scaling Onto Real GFF Capital
Path to Live is at the top of the ladder. Every GFF plan funds you on a simulated account with real payouts. The Path to Live program is where a strong record earns a live brokerage account on real GFF capital.
The risk team reviews consistency over time, how you manage drawdown, conduct around news, position sizing, and overall account history. When the team approves you, they reach out directly.
Live stage brings a different set of conditions. Your account starts at a $0 balance on GFF capital, up to a $150K cap, with a static drawdown, which never closes in as profits grow.
There is no daily loss limit or consistency rule by default, payout requests run daily with no per-payout caps, and you keep 90% from the first dollar.
Accounts combine as you move across. For example, 2 x 25K 1-Day-Pass-Plan accounts become a 50K live account, and 3 x 50K accounts reach the 150K tier.
This is where multiple funded accounts meet the live stage. Each one you earn adds to the total. Merging is the clearest way to increase funded account size on GFF.
The $750K Scaling Ceiling
Every growth path has a limit. At GFF, the scaling plan ceiling is $750K, reached by holding five funded accounts at the $150K size.
This gives traders a clear maximum allocation to work toward. A suitable account size can be chosen first, followed by the number of accounts that can be managed effectively.
Many traders may prefer to start with 1 or 2 accounts and add more as their routine, risk management, and execution become more consistent.
How to Pick the Right Plan for Your Growth Goals
The right Goat Funded Futures (GFF) plan should match how a trader prefers to progress, manage risk, and access payouts.
Steady builders may prefer the EOD Challenge, with entry prices from $69 and account sizes up to $150K.
Traders who perform better without an evaluation consistency rule can consider the 1-Day-Pass-Plan, while Flex removes the rule once the funded stage is reached.
Daily Payouts suits traders who want payout requests every 24 hours, while Instant Classic and Instant Lite remove the evaluation stage entirely.
Looking to increase funded account size? Begin with 1 account, build a consistent payout record, and add more accounts as the process becomes easier to manage.
Remember, growth works best when the plan fits your approach. Start with a manageable account structure, build a record over time, and scale within the limits of the selected GFF plan.
