How to Get a Funded Trading Account in 5 Steps
Learn how to get a funded trading account in 5 steps. Review prop firms, understand the rules, pass an evaluation, and start trading with a funded account.

As of 2026, the idea of getting a funded trading account can be misleading, especially for beginners. Many assume prop firms provide actual capital to trade, but that is not always the case.
Goat Funded Futures (GFF) provides access to simulated funded accounts where traders use virtual capital, follow defined trading rules, and qualify for real cash payouts based on their performance.
If you are wondering how to get a funded trading account, we have simplified the process into 5 steps. GFF offers 6 funding plans, with prices starting at $69 and simulated account sizes ranging from $25,000 to $150,000.
This guide explains how to choose a suitable plan, meet the funding requirements, manage your account, and become eligible for your first payout.
Step 1: Pick the Funding Route Matching Your Style
At Goat Funded Futures (GFF), we offer 6 funding plans across 2 categories: evaluation and instant funding. Our evaluation plans require you to reach a 6% profit target in a single phase before qualifying for a simulated funded account.
If you prefer to skip the evaluation process, our instant funding plans give you immediate access to a simulated funded account after purchase.
The right option depends on your trading experience, preferred strategy, and how quickly you want to start working toward payouts.
Plan | Route | Standout feature |
Single-phase evaluation | End of Day (EOD) trailing drawdown and no daily loss limit during the evaluation
Single-phase evaluation | Consistency rule waived during the evaluation, with payouts after 5 winning days
Single-phase evaluation | Daily loss limit removed in both phases, plus a waived consistency rule on the funded account
Single-phase evaluation | Payout requests every 24 hours with a 90/10 split from the first payout
Skips evaluation | Funded from purchase, with 100% of your first $10,000 in payouts
Skips evaluation | Entry-level instant plan with a 90/10 split from the first payout |
Step 2: Choose an Account Size and Compare Prices
How do I get a funded account without spending more than necessary? Start by comparing the available account sizes and their costs.
At GFF, we charge a one-time fee rather than a monthly subscription, so you know your initial expense before purchasing a plan. Our evaluation plans also allow up to 2 resets, giving you an opportunity to restart if you fail.
The table below shows our account sizes, evaluation prices, profit targets, and reset fees.
Plan | Account size | Price | Profit target | Reset price |
EOD Challenge | $50,000 | $69 | $3,000 | $59 |
EOD Challenge | $100,000 | $132 | $6,000 | $120 |
EOD Challenge | $150,000 | $185 | $9,000 | $170 |
1-Day-Pass-Plan | $25,000 | $79 | $1,500 | $69 |
1-Day-Pass-Plan | $50,000 | $109 | $3,000 | $99 |
1-Day-Pass-Plan | $100,000 | $179 | $6,000 | $159 |
Flex Challenge | $50,000 | $109 | $3,000 | $94 |
Flex Challenge | $100,000 | $169 | $6,000 | $159 |
Flex Challenge | $150,000 | $309 | $9,000 | $299 |
GOAT Daily | $25,000 | $89 | $1,500 | $79 |
GOAT Daily | $50,000 | $119 | $3,000 | $109 |
GOAT Daily | $100,000 | $189 | $6,000 | $179 |
GOAT Daily | $150,000 | $269 | $9,000 | $259 |
Our instant funding plans work differently. You skip the evaluation and gain immediate access to a simulated funded account, but you must meet the required profit threshold before qualifying for your first payout. These plans do not offer resets.
Plan | Account size | Price | First payout target |
Instant Classic | $25,000 | $192 | $1,750 (7%) |
Instant Classic | $50,000 | $277 | $3,500 (7%) |
Instant Classic | $100,000 | $489 | $7,000 (7%) |
Instant Classic | $150,000 | $624 | $10,500 (7%) |
Instant Lite | $25,000 | $182 | $1,500 (6%) |
Instant Lite | $50,000 | $229 | $3,000 (6%) |
Instant Lite | $100,000 | $369 | $6,500 (6.5%) |
Instant Lite also has profit thresholds for subsequent payouts: $1,250 for the $25,000 account, $2,400 for the $50,000 account, and $3,500 for the $100,000 account.
In essence, understanding how to get a funded trading account involves looking beyond the purchase price. Consider your budget, the requirements for earning payouts, and the cost of restarting an evaluation before choosing your account.
Step 3: Buy Your Plan and Select a Platform and Data Feed
To purchase your chosen plan, sign in to your GFF dashboard, select your preferred account size, and complete checkout.
We charge no activation fees, and your login credentials are typically sent to your email within a few minutes to an hour. You can then view your account status and details directly from the dashboard.
At checkout, you can also select our optional 90/10 Profit Share Add-On for EOD Challenge, 1-Day-Pass-Plan, and Flex Challenge accounts.
These plans offer an 80/20 profit split by default, but the add-on increases your share to 90% for an additional 20% of the challenge price.
Another important decision is your trading platform and market data provider. You must select both during checkout, as switching data providers later is not supported.
Platform changes are permitted only within the same provider, so use the table below to confirm compatibility before purchasing.
Data feed | Platforms |
CQG | NinjaTrader, Tradovate, TradingView (via Tradovate) |
DxFeed | Quantower, ATAS, Volumetrica, DeepCharts, DeepMap |
TickBlaze Market Data | TickBlaze |
GFF also covers market data costs, so you do not need to pay additional data fees. When completing the exchange agreement, select Non-Professional status if you qualify as an individual retail trader. Selecting Professional status can prevent you from trading on your account.
Platform availability also depends on your country of residence. NinjaTrader and Tradovate are restricted in certain regions, but you can still trade using alternatives such as TickBlaze, Quantower, or DeepCharts.
This means traders in affected countries can access our simulated funded accounts through other supported platforms.
Step 4: Connect Your Platform and Pass the Evaluation
Log in with the credentials from your welcome email, not your personal platform login, and connect to the simulation environment.
On TradingView, open the Trading Panel, search for Tradovate as the provider, and enter the same simulation credentials.
Commissions are built in to mirror market conditions and count toward your profit and loss. This setup is the working structure of how to get a funded account for trading with GFF.
How can I get a funded trading account after buying an evaluation? Reach the 6% profit target while respecting the drawdown, loss limit, and consistency rules below. There is no minimum number of trading days.
Once you pass, your results are reviewed, and the simulated funded account is activated within 2 business days at a $0 activation fee. Instant plan holders trade the funded account straight away and work toward the first payout target.
Plan | Drawdown | Max drawdown by size | Daily loss limit | Consistency rule |
EOD Challenge | EOD trailing, locks at starting balance | $2,000 (50K), $3,000 (100K), $4,500 (150K) | None in evaluation, 2.5% when funded | 50% in evaluation, 30% when funded |
1-Day-Pass-Plan | EOD trailing, locks at starting balance | $1,000 (25K), $2,000 (50K), $3,000 (100K) | 2.4% on 25K, 2% on 50K, 1.5% on 100K, both phases | None in evaluation, 35% when funded |
Flex Challenge | EOD trailing, locks at starting balance | $2,000 (50K), $3,000 (100K), $4,500 (150K) | None in either phase | 50% in evaluation, none when funded |
GOAT Daily | EOD trailing in evaluation, intraday trailing when funded, locks at starting balance + $100 | $1,000 (25K), $2,000 (50K), $3,000 (100K), $4,500 (150K) | $500, $1,000, $1,500, $2,250 by size, both phases | 40% in evaluation, none when funded |
Instant Classic | Intraday trailing, locks at starting balance | $1,250 (25K), $2,500 (50K), $5,000 (100K), $7,500 (150K) | 3% | 20% before payouts |
Instant Lite | EOD trailing, locks at starting balance + $100 | $1,000 (25K), $1,750 (50K), $3,000 (100K) | None on 25K, 2% on 50K and 100K | 15% for the 1st payout, 20% for the 2nd, 25% from the 3rd |
Understanding how to open a funded trading account is only the beginning. You also need to follow the rules to maintain access and remain eligible for payouts.
Reaching a daily loss limit temporarily stops trading until the next session without closing your account. However, GOAT Daily permits only 2 such breaches within a rolling 30-day period, while Instant Lite closes your account after the third breach.
Drawdown and consistency requirements are equally important. Our guide to end-of-day drawdown explains how trailing loss limits work, while our consistency rule article covers how unusually large winning days affect your progress.
Across all plans, positions are automatically closed at 3:55 p.m. Central Time (CT), or 4:45 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) on Instant Lite, meaning overnight and weekend holding are prohibited.
Funded accounts also restrict trading within 2 minutes before or after high-impact news releases, a requirement that applies during the GOAT Daily evaluation as well.
Minimum holding periods vary by plan. EOD Challenge, 1-Day-Pass-Plan, Instant Classic, and Instant Lite apply a 2-minute holding rule, while Flex Challenge requires 1 minute and GOAT Daily requires 60 seconds for payout eligibility.
Understanding these conditions helps you avoid violations and protect your progress toward receiving rewards.
Step 5: Request Payouts From Your Simulated Funded Account
A simulated funded account pays real money, and the payout rules differ by plan. Learning how to get funded for trading is only half the story, so here is how the money moves out.
Plan | Profit split | Eligibility | Request cap |
EOD Challenge | 80/20, optional 90/10 add-on | 7 winning days, 2 monthly windows | $1,500 to $2,750 (50K), $2,000 to $3,750 (100K), $2,500 to $4,250 (150K), rising with each payout |
1-Day-Pass-Plan | 80/20, optional 90/10 add-on | 5 winning days, 2 monthly windows | $800 to $1,500 (25K), $1,500 to $2,500 (50K), $2,500 to $4,500 (100K), rising with each payout |
Flex Challenge | 80/20, optional 90/10 add-on | 5 winning days, 2 monthly windows | 50% of profit, up to $2,000 (50K), $2,500 (100K), $3,000 (150K) |
GOAT Daily | 90/10 from the first payout | Every 24 hours, no winning day count | $650 (25K), $1,000 (50K), $1,500 (100K), $2,500 (150K), with a 3% processing fee |
Instant Classic | 100% of the first $10,000, then 90/10 | 7 winning days and 10 calendar days before the first payout, 2 monthly windows | $1,000 (25K), $2,000 (50K), $3,000 (100K), $4,000 (150K) per cycle |
Instant Lite | 90/10 from the first payout | Payout target and consistency rule met | $1,000 (25K), $2,000 (50K), $3,000 (100K) |
The minimum payout is $500 on every plan. A winning day is a net profit of at least 0.2% of the starting balance on EOD Challenge, 1-Day-Pass-Plan, and Instant Classic, which is $100 on a 50K account.
Flex Challenge sets its own winning day minimum at $250 on 50K, $400 on 100K, and $450 on 150K.
The monthly windows run from the 5th to the 8th and from the 20th to the 23rd, and half of your available profit stays in the account to support equity into the next cycle.
